High Availability Port Monitor (HAPM) is an application that checks
status of
local TCP/UDP ports. It is a simple, light and fast daemon.
HAPM works with the Heartbeat daemon. Heartbeat is an essential element
used in high availability projects.
If one or more monitored ports (per IP) go down then the primary
Heartbeat will be killed by HAPM and the secondary host will take over
virtual IP. See HAPM working (monitoring Apache - port 80):
A configuration example:
--------------------------------
socket=127.0.0.1:25
socket=10.0.0.1:80
socket=10.0.0.1:22
time=1
heartbeat=/etc/init.d/heartbeat
--------------------------------
Time is the interval (in seconds) between the checks.
This is a Brazilian project.
